WWII Naval Warfare

Postby Koz » Thu Jun 21, 2012 7:59 pm

I just finished reading a very good book on the Guadalcanal campaign called "Neptune's Inferno." I highly recommend it.

It has got me all interested in WWII combat games thought. I have Flat top, but what I am looking for is something that handles surface actions in non abstracted ways.

Any of you folks have any recommendations?

Any game by Jack Greene would be good. I recommend Royal Navy, Ironbottom Sound, or Destroyer Captain. Same basic system, much more detail than the Avalanche press stuff of "rolling 6's".

Of course, for submarine action, you can't beat the Battleline/Avalon Hill Submarine.

Randy,

Can you bring the games/rules sets you mention to the next meet?

Koz,

I can talk to you and give you a copy of the avalanche press stuff.
Comfortable with Chapters: A-G, J, O, P, & V
